Sindh School Summer Holidays 2024 Extended [14th August]  – KARACHI: The province of Sindh has extended the summer break for all public and private schools till August 14.  The warmth and the anticipated monsoon rains prompted the Sindh School Education and Literacy Department to make this decision.  It was stated, meanwhile, that co-curricular events honoring August 14th, Independence Day, will continue in schools as normal.  Prior to this, the subcommittee of the steering committee resolved during its meeting on January 25 that the summer holidays, which started on June 1, would expire on July 31.

“The summer vacation[s] are hereby extended in all public and private institutions under the administrative control of the School Education & Literacy Department till 14.08.2024 in the wake of the heat-wave and expected monsoon rains,” the statement continued. It went on to say that all extracurricular activities related to the Independence Day celebrations shall be carried out appropriately, both in word and deed.  On August 14, 2024, Pakistan will celebrate its 78th anniversary of independence with customary zest and fervor.

Parts of Sindh and especially the port city are expected to get hit by another spell of monsoon rains between Wednesday and Sunday (July 24-28), depending on whether a weather system developing in the Bay of Bengal impacts Gujarat, India’s coastal state, as the heat continues to swelter Karachi and the rest of the province.

Another round of hot, muggy weather is expected to begin on Wednesday, according to a meteorologist.

Simultaneously, he stated that a rain system that is forming in the Bay of Bengal might potentially impact Sindh from July 24 to July 28. He said that Karachi might get rain if the same system affected Gujarat, India.
